What are your responsibilities?

The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems. The Electrician is also responsible for the safety of all employees in the plant by ensuring that all electrical equipment is up to code and safe to use. The Electrician works closely with plant maintenance personnel, maintenance managers and field engineers to ensure that all electrical equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner. This position is remote but requires frequent travel throughout the United States.

What will you do?
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all types of electrical equipment, including but not limited to motors, starters, switches, relays, lights, fuses, transformers, circuit breakers, etc.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to determine the best course of action for repairs or installations.
  • Assist and work with, and at the direction of, the AP4 Field Engineer as required.
  • Work with high and low voltage DC.
  • Install, modify, repair, and perform diagnostic evaluation, troubleshoot and periodic and unscheduled maintenance on the full range of electrical digital and analog electronic equipment common to different forms of power plants.
  • Install and remove electrical wiring and equipment in existing plants, as needed, to bring them up to code or repair existing systems that are not working properly.
  • Propose solutions to electrical problems such as short circuits and power surges.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new electrical systems.
  • Work with other departments to ensure that all electrical work is completed safely and meets all code requirements.
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and tools.
  • Assist and support all lock out tag out activities (LOTO)
What do you need to qualify for this role?
  • Associate degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Master Electrician license.
  • I&C skillset preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience as an electrician in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Power plant experience with GE excitation systems and LCI’s.
  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Working knowledge of electrical code requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Advance troubleshooting skills.
  • Responding to emergency calls after hours is required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing work demands.
